Hajj & Umrah
In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful and Compassionate.
Every major world religion has the concept of a pilgrimage, and the major pilgrimage for Muslims is known as the Hajj. The Hajj was initially instituted by Prophet Abraham (peace be upon him) and was taught to him by the Archangel Gabriel. It is a five-day devotional practice that takes place during the first half of the final month of the Islamic calendar, incorporating several significant rites.
During Hajj, men wear two seamless white cloths, symbolising purity and equality, while women wear modest garments that cover everything except their hands and face. Simple sandals are also worn. This dress code ensures that every worshipper, regardless of their social status, is seen as absolutely equal before God. Whether one is a monarch or a street sweeper, all are united in humility and devotion. Performing Hajj is an obligation for every Muslim to fulfil at least once in their lifetime, provided they are physically and financially able to do so.
While Masjid Al Rahman and the Muslim Charity Community of Western Australia (MCCWA) do not organise or operate Hajj and Umrah packages, we advertise the availability of local packages to facilitate this important aspect of Islam. We work with reputable providers who offer high-quality programs and services to ensure a fulfilling pilgrimage experience.
These packages are designed to:
- Provide guidance and support throughout the journey.
- Enhance the spiritual experience with beneficial programs and dedicated guides.
- Foster group harmony and strengthen the bonds of Islamic brotherhood and sisterhood.
